The John Libbey Publishing animation titles will be exhibited at Hiroshima 2006 and Ottawa 2006.

Hiroshima 2006 International Animation Festival is taking place from 24 to 28 August (Hiroshima, Japan), and Ottawa ’06 International Animation Festival runs from 20 to 24 September (Ottawa, Cananda).

The key John Libbey Animation titles and some new books will be on display and available for sale. These include Optical Poetry: The Life and Work of Oskar Fischinger (Wiliam MORITZ), Yuri Norstein and Tale of Tales (Clare KITSON), and Tex Avery: A Unique Legacy (1942–1955) (Floriane PLACE-VERGHNES).

And attendees will be able to see the very first copies of THE FILM WORK OF NORMAN McLAREN by Terence DOBSON - just hot from the press. A fabulous, hardback book with a large number of illustrations (many in colour), this is the long-awaited definitive biography of this influential filmmaker. Also, there will be copies of ANIMATED WORLDS edited by Suzanne Buchan

Details of all these titles can be found in the Animation sections of this site.

Copies of the new journal CARTOONS, published with ASIFA, will also be available.

John Libbey is proud to launch this new website

John Libbey is proud to launch this new website

devoted to our list of books in Media, Animation, Early Cinema and Popular Music Culture. Many new titles are appearing this year.

Now, all our titles are presented elegantly, with a great deal of background information. The site now features an ordering system which will (at the end of this year) also offer facilities for on-line credit card processing.

John Libbey welcomes any comments from users of the site. New features, including detailed contents of books, and samples of chapters will be added progressively.
